Make a Difference 2019

At H.B. Fuller, we are deeply committed to making a positive difference in our communities. For the 11th year in a row, we demonstrated this commitment to service through Make a Difference month.

In 2019, employees in 12 countries donated nearly 4,800 hours of service to their communities, positively affecting thousands of individuals. Employees selected MAD projects that connected with causes they are passionate about and addressed local community needs. This year’s 41 Make a Difference projects included renovations at veterans’ homes, food drives, establishing community gardens, environmental restoration efforts, prosthetic hand building, enrichment activities for children in need, and donations of school supplies, among many others.

Make a difference cooking imageEmployees around the world voted and selected the project completed by employees in Pilar, Argentina, as H.B. Fuller’s 2019 Outstanding Volunteer Project. More than 50 employees contributed 400 hours of service with a local nonprofit that provides breakfast, lunch and snacks daily to 65 local kids in need. One month prior to their day of service, employees collected clothes, shoes, toys, food and money to support Comedor Todo por los Chicos. On Make a Difference Day, employees refurbished and donated benches and a grill, and had a barbecue with the kids, along with fun and games for all. They also held personal hygiene classes and prepared a vegetable garden that will be a food source in the future.

The real, lasting impact of their service is the new water source that employees built. The new water tower along with a pump, piping, valves and electrical connections will ensure fresh, clean water will be available for those served by Comedor Todo por los Chicos.
